The Choice of Your Mind by Willameena

The walk upon this lonely street will just insure your aching feet.
If you choose to blink your eyes the emptiness is all a lie.
The singing birds will walk on by and bid you, “What a pleasant nigh’.”
You thought that you might make reply but words would only come as sighs.
The cat it sits upon his bench, reading a book, his time well spent.
“How do you do?” You curtsy and ask, but he turns up his nose and just looks aghast.
But finally with another blink the world is turned back, bleak and meek.
