God gave to me a Precious Gift
A gift beyond compare,
For He gave to me a Gracious Mother
Of love and tender care.
Thanks God. Clayquot Sound, a forest fair
Ancient trees that tell All.
Save the forest from the saws
Don’t let the Giants fall.
People jailed cried out to save
The Ancient Forest Strong
Hauling stumps to Ottawa
To help, to right the wrong.
Native Elders save the land
For children not yet born.
The earth on which the forests stand
Don’t let our roots be torn.
The salmon beds and eagles nest
Depend upon the land
Because She is Our Mother Earth
Please, let the forest stand.
The treetops whisper in the wind,
I hear My Mother Breathe
Don’t let us trespass on our land,
Let’s celebrate, not grieve.
God gave to Us a Precious Gift.
A gift beyond compare,
For He gave to Us a Gracious Mother,
Of love and tender care.
Thanks Great Spirit.
