A Wildlife Conversation by Celine Rose Mariotti

One little deer said to another,
“Look over there, it’s one of those big ugly machines,”
The other deer trembled,
“That means the end of our habitat. We have to find a new home.”
The little hedgehog peeped out of his hole,
“Oh, no, the humans are building again! What are we to do?”
The fox shook his head in sadness and dismay,
“We have to find a new home before they run their machines right over us,”
The owl came out on the branch of the tree,
“Time for us to go and find a new home. God bless all the animals! Keep us safe.”
